WORTH CO., GA (WALB) -

Best Friends Humane society in Worth County will soon have a new surveillance system thanks to a generous Vidalia man. Burglars broke into the humane society last week and stole sedatives, office supplies, and a puppy.

The nonprofit was hoping to raise money for the security system, but Michael Carroll at Triton Fire and Security donated an entire system.

The $6,000 gift includes alarms, cameras, and monitoring devices.

"Them being from Vidalia and them reaching out to us and saying, 'we believe in what do you guys do, and we want to support you and help you, it's just tremendous'. It shows that people truly love animals and they want to support them every way they can," said Executive Director Jody Yarbrough.

Carroll says the donation fits his mission of giving back to the community.

The humane society hopes to install the system next week.
