ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

There was a sigh of relief after what could have been a devastating crash on Moultrie Road.

Albany Police said 26-year-old Latoya Brown made a left turn in front of an 18-wheeler.

Truck driver James Cain swerved to avoid a head-on collision but still clipped the car.

He said it was his first accident in 38 years as a trucker.

"I saw this little car that hit me, pull up to the stop sign and stopped, and immediately took off right back out in the street ahead of me. And I tried to come to the left over into the center turn lane but couldn't quite make it because it was too close on em'," said Cain.

Brown was cited for failing to yield at a stop sign, no permit to drive and for having children who were not in car seats.

No one was seriously hurt.
