Kids in Moultrie are taking out their selfie sticks to take a snapshot with a cop.

The Moultrie Police Department just started its first "Selfie with the Police" contest.

To enter, kids must start a conversation with an officer and find out a fun fact about him or her.

Then they can snap a selfie together and enter the contest

Participants must post the selfie on social media using the hashtag #‎SWTP2016, #‎MoultrieGYAC, and #‎giveyourselfachance.

It's sponsored by HEARTS for Families to prevent youth alcohol consumption.

"For this day in age, as far as the times, everything is technology driven," said Administrative Coordinator Melinda Lee. "So for youth to be able to, everybody loves selfies as far as youth , so it's a thing to get officers involved for the youth as well."

One participant from Moultrie will receive a $25 gift card.

All participants will be entered for a chance to win Beats by Dre wireless headphones.

You can find out more about HEARTS by viewing this website http://heartsforfamilies.org/alcohol-prevention-project-region-4.aspx.
