Fundraiser to be held for Newton boy injured in wreck

NEWTON, GA (WALB) -

People in Baker County are raising money to help a boy about to undergo one more major surgery.

7-year-old Taylor Sanders spent three months in the hospital and has had several surgeries since he suffered serious injuries in a car crash in Newton in 2014.

He is currently the Georgia Ambassador for the Children's Miracle Network.

“The benefit is going to help us just to survive with his surgery bills,” said Wendy Sanders, Mother. “When we stay in the hospital because it'll be up to 4 to 8 weeks for him to stay in there."    

The fundraiser for Taylor will be held April 9th at Thankful Baptist Church in Newton at 6 p.m.

    A U.S. Airman pulled off the surprise of a lifetime for his sister this weekend. Jakeria Florence graduated from Mitchell County High School Friday night. Scarlette M Wimberly She did not think her brother, Airman 1st Class Jason Florence, would make it to her graduation. He's been stationed in Alaska for more than two years.
