ALBANY, GA (WALB) - South Georgia chaplains are getting training to help them to minister to people in hospitals.

Dozens of ministers attended a session at Phoebe Northwest this afternoon hosted by The Georgia Baptist Mission Board to teach them how to offer spiritual care to people in crisis and grief.

"I think it's very important because they need to have spiritual care and spiritual guidance so when these volunteer chaplains go in they're able to meet a need that other people can't meet," said Ricky Thrasher with the Georgia Baptist Mission Board.

The seminar also touched on religious diversity and patient confidentiality.
