MITCHELL CO., GA (WALB) -

Mitchell County Animal Rescue volunteers are working to raise money for their new facility.

They're selling bows made by florists from Simply the Best for $15.

All the proceeds will go to the rescue for vet bills.

The red in the bows honors the animals that lost their lives on September 1st during the last euthanization at the shelter.

The yellow represents a new beginning.

"A brighter tomorrow the animals that we have now we're going to help find them homes, take care of all of the animals in Mitchell County and just hopefully never see a day like we did back on September 1st of last year," said Jan Belyeu, the Mitchell County Animal Rescue president.

You can buy bows at Simply the Best, Tara's Closet, Hodges Jewlery and Waters & Rackley CPA's.

Voluteers will take over the shelter from the County on March 26th.

The new rescue will open April 1st.
