ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Organizers said that great weather on Saturday made for a great Snickers Marathon in Albany.

Race Director Rashelle Beasley said volunteers were surprised at how quickly the race went, and the great weather encouraged people to stay and enjoy all of the Mardi Gras festivities.

"It was a great day, and a great race, and I think everyone was surprised at how fast it went and tickled just as much," said Beasley.

She said that they're already getting ready for next year's race.

Registration for the event will open in two weeks.
