ALBANY, GA (WALB) - DNR rangers are reminding boaters not to drink and boat as the weather warms up.
Law enforcers say they will be out on the waters to make sure people on lakes and rivers aren't breaking the law. They say the alcohol limits for boating are the same as driving a wheeled vehicle.
They hope to keep the number of accidents to a minimum. "That's our primary goal; keep everybody safe on the water Especially this time of year, and as it continues to warm up, the waterways are just getting more and more people on them. So we want everybody to be safe," said Georgia DNR Cpl. Greg Wade.
Corporal Wade says it's best to have a designated driver and not to drive at all if you've been drinking.
