MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest of a teen in connection to the shooting death of a woman at a community center.
The GBI said a 16-year-old shot 33-year old Fatisha Clark at the Ryce Community Center in Moultrie, around 4:25 Sunday afternoon.
Police called this killing another example of unnecessary violence. They're asking for the community's help in solving and curbing crimes like this.
"What we're asking is for the community to come together and stop this. Work with us to solve these crimes as opposed to taking things into your own hands and resulting in anybody else getting hurt," said Deputy Chief Rob Rodriguez with the Moultrie Police Department.
Investigators have not said anything about a motive. It's also unclear if Clark was even the intended victim of the shooter or shooters.
Fatisha Annette Clark, age 33, was shot in the abdomen.
An autopsy will be performed by the GBI Medical Examiner's Office in Macon.
