ALBANY, GA (WALB)
About 20 thousand people attended Saturday's Mardi Gras Street Festival in downtown Albany.
Organizers are still tallying up the numbers but say they had a good turnout, and the event helped draw a lot of people to the Flint Riverquarium.
“It gets us out there in front of people. We had lots of people on Saturday who even though they are from Albany had never been to the Riverquarium and this was their opportunity because they happened to be down here for Mardi Gras,” says Vicki Churchman, Operations Manager.
Managers say they had a steady flow of people at the Riverquarium all day and had an increase in revenue compared to last year.
