LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) - One man is dead after a fatal crash in Lowndes County. Post 31 Georgia State Patrol responded the fatal wreck on Inner Perimeter Road in Lowndes County at about 3 a.m. Sunday.
A green mid-size sedan, driven by 49-year-old Arica Ondrae Henderson, was traveling south on Inner Perimeter Road.
After Henderson attempted to negotiate a curve, his vehicle traveled off the shoulder of the roadway and onto the median. The vehicle then struck a culvert pipe, causing it to overturn several times into the northbound lanes of Inner Perimeter Road on its top.
Henderson was using his seat belt, but was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead after officials arrived on the scene.
Troopers suspect speed and alcohol to be a contributing factor to the crash, but will be pending a toxicology report.
Henderson was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
No charges were filed.
