ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A huge crowd came out and enjoyed the free music and great food on hand at the Mardi Gras celebrations.

Festivities kicked off early in the afternoon and lasted well into the night.

One person there said community involvement will help bring more events like this to town.

“We have some good music, and a peaceful environment, and everybody is having a good time, eating some great food. Come on down and enjoy the festivities so we can bring more stuff like this out here,” said Asa McCollum.

If you missed this year, make sure you're in town for the event next year.
