ASHBURN, GA (WALB) - Anybody under 60 years old wasn't alive for the last Turner county girls state title.
So following the Lady rebels undefeated season and Class-A state championship, Ashburn organized and celebrated with a parade,
For the seniors, it was also their 4th straight region championship. And they know they owe their 31-0 record to their coach for the past 5 years,Tasha Kimble.
"She is the best coach you can possibly have," said senior Kaneshia Gilbert. "She may be strict at times but that;s the best coach ever. You got to give love to Tasha Kimble, the best coach ever. We love you coach Kimble!"
"I missed a lot of work going to games this year," said Tina Whitehead, mother of senior guard Tynecia Whitehead. "Because this is her last year. We're excited as parents and we know that the coach is excited. So all we can do is thank God for blessing us to win this championship this year."
Kimble will try and lead the Lady Rebels back to the state championship game for the third straight season next year.
