WORTH CO., GA (WALB) - Employees at the Best Friends Humane society in Worth County are in recovery mode, after someone broke into the shelter overnight.
Someone was able to cut through the wall on the back of the building and make it inside.
The crooks got away with office equipment, medical supplies, and even one of the shelter's animals.
Shelter employees believe repairs will cost over $8,000.
"To know that they would have come in and broken in, and damaged the building, and just taken from us in the middle of the night, and put the safety of the animals at risk was the biggest thing," said Executive Director Jody Yarbrough.
If you have any information on this crime, call the Worth County Sheriff's Office.
The shelter will hold a yard sale Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m where people can donate and drop off items.
The yard sale will take place at 505 North Isabella Street.
