ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Topics including domestic violence and the Black Lives Matter movement were discussed at Albany State Thursday afternoon.

The Stronger Empowerment tour hosted a free open forum for students to talk about various issues prevalent in the black community, especially those affecting African American women.

"My vision is if we uplift the sisters, we uplift the community. So there are a ton of issues that need to be talked about. We talk about them in our homes. So I decided to bring a platform here so we can talk about them in an open forum," said Kimberly Thomas, with the Strong Empowerment tour.

Thomas praised Albany state as the most accommodating school on her tour so far.
