One injured in single car wreck

PUTNEY, GA -

Authorities responded to a wreck at Palm Avenue and Dorough Ave. Thursday night.

Dispatch reported that there was only one car involved and there were injuries.

The driver was the only person in the brown pick-up truck and was rushed to to the hospital for treatment.

The Dougherty County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident.

No word yet on how severe the injuries are or what caused the wreck.

    Several Albany churches are joining hands this week to end violence through prayer by hosting a continued tent revival tour in areas of high crime.  Fisherman of Men for Christ and five other churches will have a tent-gathering starting Monday, until Friday on the corner of West Whitney and Jefferson Street.

    A number of volunteers from counties surrounding Arlington, assisted the American red Cross by giving food to those in need for disaster storm relief efforts.     The Southwest Georgia American Red Cross Chapter stepped in immediately on Saturday to open a comfort station for folks in Arlington.  It was stationed at a gym on Pioneer Road after the storm damaged a number of homes.

    It's been a little over 24 hours since a severe storm swept through Arlington, leaving folks to pick up the pieces.  Sunday night, Arlington Police said a number of residents are still without power and water in that city.
