Mardi Gras to bring thousands downtown this weekend

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

If you're looking for a fun family event this weekend, you might want to check out the Mardi Gras Festival in downtown Albany.    

Thousands of visitors are expected Saturday for the Snickers Marathon and the street festival.

Festivities kick off at noon with a pet parade... then music all day till 8 p-m.      

There will also be lots of food and activities for the kids.

Its something all day long both indoors and outdoors getting to enjoy the exhibits, the touch tank at the Riverquarium, the educational movies, and its just a good day for families, and we are anticipating with the good weather we will have a large crowd out, says Executive Director of the Flint Riverquarium Tommy Greggors.

Admission to the Riverquarium will be just $5.00 dollars. There will also be $3.00 movies. Admission to the Mardi Gras Festival is $5.00.
