ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany celebrated its 64th birthday.
Base leaders say MCLB has been a strong community partner in Albany since 1952.
The base has an annual economic impact of $1.6 Billion on the region.
Officials hope the base will be around for generations to come.

"Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Marine Corps Logistics Command, and the more than 40 tenant organizations aboard this base just want to say thank you to the Albany community for having us here for 64 years and we hope to continue to provide support to this community for 64 years to come,” said Colie Young, MCLB Public Affairs.

The base has around 300 active duty Marines and 5,000 civilian employees.
