Sproul announces re-election bid as Dougherty Sheriff

The Dougherty County Sheriff announced he plans to run for re-election this year.
Sheriff Kevin Sproul has served as Dougherty County Sheriff since 2008. If elected this would be his third term in the office.

Sproul started in the Sheriff's Office in 1982 as a detention officer in the jail.
He worked his way up to the county's top law enforcement officer.
"We've had major improvements in the office and throughout the community, and the works not done,"said Sheriff Sproul.  "I want to see more of it get accomplished in this next turn."

Qualifying does not begin until next week, but Sheriff Sproul announced his decision at today's commission meeting.
So far there is no one else announced running for Dougherty County Sheriff.
