ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Members of one south Georgia church celebrated Black History Month in a unique way. Sunday, children and adults from Saint John Missionary Baptist church performed a skit called "Nothing New Under the Sun."
The program highlighted accomplishments of African Americans from the time of slavery up until today, and parallels them with biblical figures.
Ministry leader Sheila Murray said the representation would encourage younger kids to incorporate lessons from the bible into their own lives.
"But when you actually get into it, and that character becomes you, they will want to tell their children, and their children's children. It becomes in them, and they'll run and tell somebody else," said ministry leader Sheila Murray.
Each child in the play acted as wax figures in a museum.
Then they came to life to tell their story.
