BACONTON, GA (WALB) -

Future Farmers of America members in Baconton donated their blood to help folks in need.

This is national FFA week.

Throughout the week, the Baconton Community Charter School's chapter will give back to the community.

FFA Advisor Victoria Hill said this is a way for students to make an impact on their school and community.

"We've had a big turnout," she said. "We have a line waiting to give blood.  The kids are so eager to give blood. They understand what they're giving blood for.  So it's really good that our FFA officers and our chapter have worked really hard putting this together this week."

More than 60 students participated in the blood drive Thursday.
