POLK CO., GA (WALB) - Department of Natural Resources officials are hoping someone can give them more information on a bald eagle that was found shot.
DNR officers found the eagle lying in a field in Polk County Wednesday, they said in a Facebook post.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Ranger Hotline at 1-800-241-4113. All calls are kept confidential and you can remain anonymous.
Bald eagles are a federally protected species.
Violators may have to pay a $5,000 fine with one year imprisonment on a first conviction.
Rewards are provided for information leading to arrest and conviction for violation of the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.
