Tornado confirmed in Lee County

LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - Experts confirmed that a tornado touched down in Lee County as strong storms blew through early Wednesday morning.

National Weather Service officials said an EF-1 tornado, with winds of up to 105 miles per hour traveled for .2 miles near Gray Moss Road.

The tornado was part of strong storms that blew through South Georgia, causing major wind damage.

Officials also confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Grady County, and traveled for 12 miles.
