ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An update tonight on a football-loving Albany boy living with several life-threatening illnesses.

We introduced you to Michael Stephens a couple of months ago. He turns 10 soon.

To celebrate his birthday and another successful open-heart surgery, a local salon owner is throwing him a party.

It will include pro football players and live entertainment.

Michael's love of football and the love of his mother Kay keep him going... But other loved ones say she can't do it alone.

"It's kind of like a renewed vigor," said local salon owner Tosh Sevier. Every time she's met with a obstacle, it's just amazing to be in her presence and see how she considers the situation and goes straight into solutions. Michael is probably one of the most amazing souls I've ever met."

If you'd like to help make the March 5th event for Michael a big success, contact Sevier on Facebook.
