ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Flu activity is increasing in Georgia late in the season.
Health officials say they've seen the number of flu hospitalizations double in the last couple of weeks.
If you got a flu shot you've probably avoided the flu because this year's vaccine was a good match to the most common strain.
"It's not too late to get the flu vaccine, so you can always see your primary care physician or visit our local health department and ask about the flu vaccine," said Ebonee Kirkwood, Communicable Disease Specialist. "We also encourage hand washing, hand hygiene and good respiratory or cough etiquette."
If you do get the flu you should stay home until you're better to keep from spreading the illness.
