ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Law enforcers rounded up more than 20 wanted suspects on Monday in Albany, but the search continues for several dozen more.

The Albany Police Department partnered with the FBI and other  agencies for a roundup.

They arrested 21 people with active felony warrants, many for drug crimes.

They also focused on gang members accused of probation or parole violations.

During one arrest at an Albany motel, police recovered a gun and suspected drug money.

"This is not about enforcement and just putting people in jail, but it is about people who do have active warrants and they have to answer for that. It's also showing the community that we are one law enforcement group," said Albany Police Chief Michael Persley.

More than 80 officers were involved in the roundup, and the list included more than 60 suspects.

Work to find the others is still ongoing.

Police have not released the names of any of those arrested on Monday.
