ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A former Chehaw Park employee who was arrested last June for using park credit cards to buy merchandise for herself, pled guilty, and was sentenced Monday morning by Judge Willie Lockette.
Angela Rivera, who was out a bond, paid back $46,899 to Chehaw Park, and was put on ten years' probation, and sentenced to perform thirty days of community service.
She had faced five counts of financial identity fraud, and one count of theft by taking.
WALB reported that in June of 2015, according to a report by Albany Police, Chehaw officials said Rivera admitted to spending at least $6,000 in 2014.
Chehaw fired Rivera after they started their own investigation.
Chehaw management said they have been reviewing internal control policies and procedures to safeguard assets.
