Alma police search for suspect after car chase

ALMA, GA (WALB) - Alma Police are searching for a suspect after attempting to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Saturday. The vehicle had then failed to stop, leading officers on a chase through the east and south areas of Alma.

As the chase turned onto Stock Market Road, assisting Bacon County Sheriff's Office deputies observed a child's car seat in the back seat of the vehicle. APD and BCSO officers immediately terminated the pursuit.

Officers recognized and identified the driver of the vehicle as 27-year-old Jared Prez Robinson of Alma.

APD has secured arrest warrants on Robinson for felony fleeing and aggravated assault, after Robinson attempted to strike a BCSO vehicle.

Robinson will additionally be charged with driving with a suspended driver's license, reckless driving, no license plate, disregard for a traffic light, failure to maintain lane, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, six counts of speeding, and seven counts of disregard for a stop sign.
