ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A legend on the diamond made a visit to the Good Life city Saturday morning.
The oldest living former Negro League baseball player spoke at the Albany Civic Center this morning.
In honor of Black history month, Roosevelt Jackson spoke at a program from 10-noon.
The event was put on by Parks and recreation, and was free to the public. Jackson was honored to come and speak with the community.
"I thank god that he give me something I can say to encourage the young man and young lady," said Jackson.
Following him speaking he took pictures and signed autographs for fans.
