TERRELL CO., GA (WALB) -

Milton Johnson will pay for abusing a girl and a boy.  Their father says he's thankful justice was served.

"He thought he had got away with it," said the father. "So it was that moment I felt everything I did was not in vain. And it's not for the credit of me, it was for the justice for my kids. And not just my kids, other kids. What I did for my kids, I would've did for anybody else's kids."

The salacious trial shocked many people in Dawson.

"Well if he's guilty, he's guilty," said a Terrell count residnet named Milton. Then pay the price. That's all I got to say about that right there."

Even more shocking for many people in this small town, the prosecution says they will continue to investigate allegations that Dawson Mayor Christopher Wright was involved in the abuse.

"I really was surprised to hear the mayor was involved, but what can I say," said the resident, Milton.

"This is like real life," reminded the father. "Some of the events that happened, you only hear and see stuff like this on lifetime."

The father said his kids are strong for what they've been through. And he continues to pray and care for them.

"For them to go through what they've been through that. It's just unheard of. I hope he asks God for forgiveness. Because Hell is real, and I think that's going to be his home."
