ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Preparations are underway for the 2016 Snickers Marathon in Albany.
Organizers are busy changing signage and promotional material for the 10th annual race.
So far, 1,200 runners have registered from 42 different states and four other countries.
Organizers plan to recognize volunteers for their involvement over the years with a t-shirt, bag and other items.
"Just incentive and thank the volunteers for coming out. Some of the volunteers have been with us the entire ten years. We definitely want to make sure that we recognize them and really show our appreciation to them," said Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Rashelle Beasley.
Volunteers are still needed.
To register to run in the Snickers Marathon or to volunteer for the race, you can go the event's website here or visit the Albany Welcome Center in downtown.
Runners can register online until Tuesday and at the Runners' Expo on March 4th at the Hilton Garden Inn from 3 to 9.
The race is March 5th.
