ALBANY, GA (WALB) - On Monday night Southwest Georgia Regional Airport officials had a briefing on the response of emergency crews to a deadly plane crash that happened a little more than two weeks ago.
Airport Police Chief Bernard Ford spoke with Aviation Commission members about how crews responded to the accident.
This all happened as new leaders stepped into their roles on the Albany Aviation Commission.
Monday night was Attorney Ken Hodges' his first meeting since being appointed to the board.
Frank Middleton was elected Chairman and Keith Fletcher was named Vice Chairman.
"Both the safety people, the tower and the FBO people that responded to the accident were very professional, very competent and they did an excellent job in a very tragic situation," said Middleton.
The crash on January 30th killed Britt Knight, who just bought the plane in December, as well as Brittany Kerfoot and retired State Patrol pilot Kevin Coalson.
