Phoebe Putney is launching a new program to get nurses more education.
The nurse residency program will help new nurses get more training in areas like Progressive Cardiovascular Nursing and Adult Critical Care.
Right now a reception is underway at the cafeteria to welcome its first group of nurse residents.
“It's a combination of classroom lecturing, group dialogue, discussion, preceptor ship, mentoring, journaling, and there will be at least one structured lecture a week,” says Dr. Evelyn Olenick, with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The training will get underway in just a few weeks.
