Victim identified in aggravated assault at Dollar General

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Police are investigating after one person was shot during an attempted armed robbery at the Dollar General on North Slappey.

According to a report, Danielle Wilson was shot after an unknown black male, armed with a small gray handgun, approached her and demanded she take him to the safe.

Wilson was taking the suspect to the safe but tried to escape and was shot in the leg.

The suspect, who was wearing all black, with a black shirt over his face and purple shoes, left the Dollar General on foot and headed down Whispering Pines Road.

APD said that this is an active case and has been turned over to the Investigation Bureau.
