ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany stars showed off their moves on the dance floor Saturday night.

Albany State Director of Bands Michael Decuir, State Representative Winfred Dukes, Fox 31's Katie Thurber, and WALB's own Aaryn Valenzuela competed.

Thurber and her partner scored the highest score for the win.

Program coordinator Elizabeth Delancy said this event proves why people call Albany the 'Good Life City.'

"It really saddens me when I hear people saying, 'Well, I'm going to go away for the weekend,' when there is so much potential in this town," she said. "And so hopefully, we're demonstrating that tonight."

The event raises money for Darton State College's Community Dance Education Program.

First place went to Thurber.

Dukes came in second place.

Valenzuela placed third in the competition.

Albany State's Decuir came in fourth.
