ENIGMA, GA (WALB) - Investigators raided two convenience stores Thursday, in connection to illegal gambling.

Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation raided the X-press Mart in Enigma and a BP on West Dame Ave. in Homerville.

The stores are accused of giving out cash for winnings to undercover agents.

Both gas stations have gambling machines that are legal, as long as the store gives out credit that can only be redeemed for store merchandise.

Officials arrested Kenny Patel, 41, of Homerville and Samantha Johnson, 30, of Enigma.

GBI agents from the Commercial Gambling Unit executed the raid along with local officers and agents from the GBI Douglas office.

Georgia Lottery officials, the department of revenue, and the District Attorney's office were called to the scene as well.
