ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Plans are moving ahead to move Albany's National Guard Armory to the Marine Corps Logistics Base.
Wednesday, House and Senate budget negotiators agreed to keep in the budget the $1.1 million Governor Nathan Deal proposed for the project though that decision is not official yet.
City and County commissioners each approved $200,000 to help fund the move they hope will help protect MCLB from future rounds of base closings.
The move would mark the first time a guard unit has been located on a Marine Base.
