LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

The Lee County Sheriff officially announces he will run for re-election.

Reggie Rachals was first elected in 2008, succeeding Sheriff Hal Breeden.  The 34-year law enforcement veteran is wrapping up his second term as Lee County Sheriff.

He says law enforcers face new challenges as Lee County continues to grow.

"I look forward to, we're going to continue moving forward with the Sheriff's Office.  And the way we are going now.  Not just get stagnated on where we are at. Keep on moving forward. Keep getting new technology," Rachals said.

Rachals is not facing any opposition at this time.
