MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - There are signing day classes and then there is what happened at Colquitt County today. The two time defending state champs saw a ton of talent make the move to the next level.
Last national signing day- the Packers set a school record with signees.
Today- they shattered that number. 25 Packer seniors signed with the colleges of their choice this afternoon.
That includes three to the SEC, one to the Big 10, and five more to non-power five conferences.
Head coach Rush Propst estimates the team accrued over three million dollars in scholarship money.
Wednesday was a very special day for a very special team.
"Getting to do it with the guys who I went to war with every Friday it felt real good," said Ja'quain Blakely, Tennessee signee. "Seeing all my guys better themselves and to get an education and play at the next level. It's a great feeling."
"It was nice to have that," said Dee Walker, Arkansas signee. "I mean we had a few players that we thought wouldn't go anywhere and they ended up getting an offer and moving on with their lives."
The 25 commits is 8 more than last years total of 17.
