Cause of death in plane crash released

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

All three people who died in the crash of a private plane last weekend at the Albany Airport were killed instantly from blunt force trauma, officials say.

The plane's fuel caught fire, and most of the plane burned, but medical officials say there was no fire or smoke effects in the autopsies.

All three people aboard the plane were ejected when the plane hit the ground.

40-year-old Britt Knight, 30-year-old Brittany Kerfoot, and 48-year-old Kevin Coalson passed away after the 2002 Lancair 4 crashed shortly after taking off.

The autopsies were done at the GBI lab in Macon.
