LEE CO., GA (WALB) - The Lee County 4-H shotgun team donates money for a home that will provide temporary respite care for families caring for a child with disabilities.
The Tyler Smith Memorial Shootout raised $8700 for Megan's House.
Easter Seals plans to build a fourth Megan's House that can serve three families at a time plus an extra room for emergencies.
"We plan on making it a yearly event with Easter Seals," said Glenn Smith, Coach. "They seem to be real happy with it and we're happy with it. It gives us something to look forward to every year. Maybe it'll just get bigger and better."
"It's just a wonderful exciting day to have kids involved in doing something that will benefit other children," said Beth English, Easter Seals Executive Director.
So far, Easter Seals has raised $320,000 of their $500,000 goal for the project.
