ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany police responded to a shooting that happened in the Burger King parking lot on the 200 block of East Oakridge Boulevard.
According to officials, 21-year-old Dekel Smith and 19-year-old Cherrell Riley met up in the Burger King parking lot and got into an argument.
As Riley was leaving, she ran over Smith's foot with her car. Investigators say Smith pulled a gun and fired several shots then hobbled to Riley's car and attacked her.
There were no injuries reported from the gunshots, but Smith was taken to the hospital for treatment from injuries sustained from getting hit.
Riley was transported for injuries suffered in a fight prior to the meeting at Burger King.
Both people are considered suspects and victims.
Both had first appearances before a judge this morning, and bond was denied.
