TERRELL CO., GA (WALB) -

Post 10 Georgia State Patrol troopers responded to a fatal wreck Friday night on Highway 82, near Dawson.

According to officials, the wreck was called in at about 6:55 p.m. A sedan, driven by 77-year-old Vencer McBride, was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes, with no headlights.

A truck carrying a couple and two dogs was driving westbound at the time and hit the sedan head-on. After the impact, a second sedan driving eastbound also hit McBride's vehicle. One of the dogs, a black Chihuahua and Jack Russell mix, disappeared shortly after the impact.

The couple in the truck and a passenger in the other sedan were injured after the wreck. McBride was confirmed dead at the scene.

The missing dog may still be wearing a collar. If anyone has information on the whereabouts of the couple's dog, they may be reached at 229-436-6415.
