Teen shot in Sycamore robbery pleads guilty

SYCAMORE, GA (WALB) -

18-year-old Devin Burton pleaded guilty to armed robbery in Turner County Superior Court this week. The judge sentenced him to a 20-year sentence, with 10 to serve in prison.

Burton is charged with robbing a gas station near Sycamore in July of last year, at gunpoint.

While inside the store demanding money, a Vietnam veteran and concealed carry permit holder shot him several times.

Burton made it to a nearby home, where he stopped to call 911.

His accused accomplice and getaway driver, 17-year-old Marleigh Agner, was charged with party to the crime and is requesting a trial.

No date has been set on that trial.
