ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Second annual Georgia quail Invitational is in town, and members are ready for a game-filled weekend.
Land owners, sponsors and hunters were invited to the Shackelford House to kickoff the weekend.
This year there are about 70 participants which doubles last size of last year's event.
Like last year, the proceeds from the event will be used to improve the sport of quail hunting.
"We're going to get quail hunting back to the way it used to be when we were younger," said Southwest Georgia chapter president, Bobby McKinney. "And have a lot of habitat on the WMA's (Wildlife management area.)"
The landowners and sponsors will be hunting around the area Friday and Saturday.
