Robbery victims now charged for giving false statements

We first reported that two men robbed a couple of customers at the Spit Shine Car Wash in Cordele Wednesday evening.

Stephen and Michael Wilson told police they were robbed at gun point by two black males. The robbers got away with cash and took the victims vehicle.

Within an hour the vehicle was located near the Farmer's Market in a wooded area.

Today the case was turned over to the Cordele Detectives Division. Cordele Police say there is more to the incident then the victims first reported.

Both 24-year-old Stephen Wilson and 31-year-old Michael Wilson are charged with false report of a crime, and giving false statements.

The case is still under investigation.
