Robbery suspects in high-speed chase arrested at Fort Benning

FORT BENNING, GA (WALB) -

Two men suspected of robbing a convenience store and led officers on a high-speed chase have been captured in Fort Benning.

According to Dawson investigators, the two men robbed the Kangaroo Express convenience store in the 700 block of Georgia Hwy. 520 a little before 5 a.m. Thursday.

Fort Benning officials said the two men, who were not immediately named, were chased by deputies to the base.

The two men crashed the car they were being chased in at Sand Hill in Fort Benning.

One of the suspects was injured in the crash and was arrested immediately. The other ran away, broke into a home and stole another vehicle to get away.

Fort Benning guards spotted the second suspect, chased him in the vehicle he was in, and later stopped and arrested him at the intersection of Red Arrow and Buena Vista.
