Lee County officials vote to raise EMS rates

LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

Lee county commissioners voted to raise EMS rates to the state average.

That's less than the initial proposed hike.
They also instructed Chairman Rick Muggridge to negotiate a deal with billing company Intermedix to help the county collect as much revenue as possible.

“So we want to raise our revenue per run and we think by improving our billing is one way another way is by raising our rates,” said Rick Muggridge, Chairman.

The new rates will go into effect February 1st.
