DOOLY CO., GA (WALB) -

The Georgia State Patrol has identified the two victims of an interstate wreck, involving a charter bus and a sedan.

According to the GSP a sedan, driven by 24-year old Philip Lane from Cordele, was going north on I-75 near mile marker 108 about 12:15 a.m. Sunday, when it ran off the road and hit a guardrail. The sedan rolled back on the interstate and stopped in the middle of the northbound lanes.

A charter bus driven by 56-year-old Russell Tanksley slammed into the passenger side of the sedan, killing Lane and 65-year old Wanda McKnight of Atlanta, a passenger on the bus.

There were no other passengers in the car or bus. Tanksley is not facing charges and was not injured.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the wreck.

The northbound lanes of the interstate were closed until about 5 a.m.
