ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The former owners of Bob's Candies in Albany were honored for their contributions to the arts. The Georgia Association of Museums and Galleries conference wrapped up in Albany today with an awards luncheon at Merry Acres.

They took time to honor the McCormack family. Tommy Gregors, with Thronateeska Heritage Center, says the family made a lot of contributions over the years.

Contributor support is always something local museums depend on to keep things running.

"It just recognizes individuals and family contributions and group contributions to supporting museums and galleries across our state," said Executive Director Tommy Gregors. "And we just wanted to recognize the McCormack family for what they have done for all of our institutions here in Albany."

More than 100 museum professionals from around the state were here in Albany for the event.
